Three drum is one of the harder dances for the older students. This is because it requires a ton of energy as well as some flexibility. The dance consists of many turns and jumps and even requires leaning backward in the choreography. While it takes up a lot of energy, it is supposed to be performed gracefully but powerfully. The performers dance in a tighter fitting hanbok to accentuate the beautiful angles that are in the dance. The costume consists of two different color combinations such as red and white, and orange and green. The different color combinations are worn based on the occasion. I learned this dance during the summer and I have to admit, it was one of the harder dances to learn. The dance has many details that if one fails to show, it could ruin the performance or cause one to stand out from the rest (not in a good way). But after enduring learning the dance, it was a performance I loved to perform because of the required synchronization and how satisfying it is to see our performances afterward.
