Jindo drum dance combines both dancing and drumming. Similar to the hourglass drum and one drum, it uses the basic foundations of both dances, moving similarly to the hourglass drum dance and using basic beats that are showcased in both dances. Jindo drum dance originates from the farm folk of Korea. The dance isn't fancy but is full of something called heung 흥 which best translates to energy or high spirits and excitement. It is both graceful and powerful in different moments and has great dynamics in the dance, making it fun to watch and making the audience want to dance as well. Jindo drum dance is a higher skill level dance that I enjoyed learning and I really enjoy myself when I am on stage. I feel that while performing this dance, I feel connected to my culture.
