Crane Dance 학춤

Crane dance is an interesting dance that is "more" traditional compared to the other performances. The beats and music appeal more towards older audiences and the dance is difficult to learn. This is because the beats are so particular and the movement of the dance is very hard to master. The dance is about scholars who went out for a drink together. They end up getting drunk and act like cranes. The story behind the dance may be a bit silly but the overall performance is very breathtaking. The movements of the dance have to be heavier which makes it difficult because the dancer must look light but heavy at the same time. The costumes fit appropriately to the backstory, the performers are dressed as scholars in a nice white hanbok (this is also to represent cranes). I love this dance because it is unique compared to the others and the costumes look so cool or "masculine". The men's hanbok tends to be more comfortable giving me the feeling of freedom when performing.
