I started doing Korean Traditional Dance here in LA when I was in kindergarten. It has been 13 years since I've joined the Jung Im Lee Korean Dance Academy to learn more about my culture. I also began dancing with Kim Eunghwa Korean Dance Academy. I first started it only because my parents told me to do but I grew to enjoy sharing part of Korean culture with others. I was proud of my heritage and my identity as a Korean American. I was also able to pick up the instrument gayageum in 3rd grade. This was all thanks to the exposure to Korean culture in Los Angeles. I am forever grateful that I live in LA and that I can have access to these sources to learn more about my culture.
